Nelson Ward

Nelson ward takes in the gateway to our city and Penny would like to see a serious plan devised for the regeneration of Tipner.

Working alongside Conservative councillor James Williams, Penny is also trying to get funding secured to give North End shopping centre a much needed facelift to  revitalise this once thriving local shopping area.

Penny also deals with many queries from residents in Nelson who have become victims of the complicated Tax Credit system. Penny is an active and keen campaigner to help those affected.

Penny Mordaunt said, “There are simply too many forms to fill in and Government cannot seem to understand that people’s individual situations change. Is it their fault that have been overpaid by the Government, because paperwork gets lost in the massive bureaucracy of the Inland Revenue? We need to take a far more sympathetic approach to cases such as these.
