A Communications Officer is sought to provide communication support in the Constituency Office of Penny Mordaunt MP on a full time basis. Based at Lakeside, Portsmouth you will provide support to the Member and her constituency staff.
The Key responsibilities of the role are:
Analyse patterns of enquiries and produce reports to steer parliamentary activity
Dealing with parliamentary queries from members of the public
Log all cases, monitor progress and ensure all relevant action is taken
Research and gathering relevant information to assist with preparing correspondence
Draft responses to constituents
Retain records and information confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act
Assist the Member and other staff members with their roles as and when required
The successful applicant will be responsible for the management and drafting of Parliamentary correspondence and other campaign communications alongside the Parliamentary Assistant.
Experience of the use of databases and the production of reports on key priorities would be advantageous as the successful candidate would be expected to use these skills to deliver tailored correspondence to a wide audience.
Applicants will need to demonstrate a good standard of education and be confident in their research and data analysis abilities. Experience of mail merge and mass mail outs in addition to a high standard of written English and attention to detail is a must.
