Fix our broadband campaign
July 7, 2017
The good news is that Portsmouth North has some of the fastest broadband speeds in the country, at 31.7Mbps compared to the average of 17Mbps, however about 25% of the constituency has speeds slower than the national average.
Over the last year I have been working to resolve these slow sports. I have met with residents and developers of new housing estates to ask them retrofit broadband infrastructure, and asked that in the future such provision is a standard expectation in any planning application.
We have surveyed business in problem areas and are working to get our industrial and business estates to have higher speeds.
Can you help us ensure that any slow spot is identified? You can check your own broadband service using Which’s speed checker at which.co.uk/testyourspeed, and I’d be grateful if you could get in touch with me if you are experiences a disappointing service.
My thanks to Which? for all they are doing to help us get a better service to everyone.
