I strongly believe the Government’s position on opposing AQUIND is correct and am urging them to hold their current line. I have made a further deputation against the AQUIND interconnector project to the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, and the Planning Inspectorate.
I understand that this project has caused significant anxiety and uncertainty among many of you, and I wanted to reassure you that I am committed to ensuring that your voices are heard. I will be taking these concerns to the relevant authorities and will be advocating for a thorough and transparent review of AQUIND and ensuring it never comes to Portsmouth.
If you also want to make your view on the scheme known you can do so in a number of ways before the deadline for raising objections which is now the end of April 2023 (28th April 2023).
You can send your own via email via [email protected]

Please do not hesitate to contact my office if you have any further questions or concerns. My team and I will continue to work to oppose this damaging and unnecessary scheme.

Penny Mordaunt MP
